Dr. Markus Kretschmer

Dr. Markus Kretschmer is professor of product design and design management at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. He supervises student’s design projects and teaches design strategy, besides history and theories of design. Furthermore, he is lecturer at international universities. His research focus is on strategic design and creativity as foundation for sustainable innovation. His Ph.D. supervisor was Hartmut Esslinger. 
Before his academic career he worked as a designer in industry, where he gained wide experience in a multitude of design projects ranging from conceptual to strategic design and design management.
